For many years, we have been visiting Sweden and Norway with our family for holidays. After our first visit in 1997, our love for these beautiful countries grew year after year, and slowly but surely, the idea of building a new life in Sweden began to take shape. We fell in love with a somewhat run-down campsite in the beautiful province of Dalarna. However, after taking a number of serious steps, we had to abandon our plans. Shortly afterwards, we bought a lovely cottage in Malungsfors so that we could at least visit our beloved Sweden on a regular basis. To this day, we have not regretted this decision for a second.
Soon after, I got talking to the estate agent who sold us our house. He suggested we work together. It was a great chance to combine my knowledge of marketing, finance, estate agency and my passion for Sweden and set up a small-scale agency service as a side business alongside my regular job.
In the spring of 2006, I founded Insito Real Estate and started small. Soon, more estate agents joined us every month, the range of properties on offer expanded and the number of clients, and with it the number of hours I spent on “Sweden”, steadily increased.
In the early years, my work consisted of supporting Swedish and Norwegian estate agents in selling houses to customers from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. After a few years on the sales side, I decided to change course. I stopped supporting estate agents and focused my expertise and knowledge exclusively on supporting buyers, emigrants and start-up entrepreneurs in Sweden and Norway.
As our services have expanded beyond real estate, the name Insito Real Estate no longer covers the full scope of our activities and has been changed to Insito – The Sweden Specialist.
I love working with Sweden and Norway, applying my knowledge of real estate and finance, and helping private individuals and entrepreneurs navigate the process of purchasing a home or business in Sweden and Norway or emigrating to these beautiful countries.
Since August 2021, the “About us” page can truly be called “About us”. Not only we ourselves, but also many other people have fallen in love with beautiful and peaceful Scandinavia and call on our help in searching for and purchasing a home or business in Sweden or Norway. As a result, De Zwedenspecialist itself hardly had any time to rest, and it was time to expand the company further.
Around the time I stepped from primary school to secondary school, my parents came up with the idea of moving to Sweden and starting a campsite there. When that didn’t work out, we spent many holidays in Sweden, and even now, as an adult with a young family, I still love visiting this wonderful country. When my father asked me if I would like to do something for his company, I couldn’t say no. A few hours of support a week quickly turned into a day a week, and after a year of combining this with a permanent job, I decided to quit and devote myself fully to De Zwedenspecialist. It’s great fun to share my enthusiasm with customers and help people realise their dreams!
